Introducing . . . our CBE Premier Exhibitors!

No matter the project -- whether it's building a house or starting a business or writing a thesis or, in our case, launching a new consumer show -- starting with a strong, solid foundation is essential to any hope of success in the various stages of development that follow. So it's with a lot of gratitude and appreciation that we say a big THANK YOU to those companies who decided early on to join us in this mission of launching the Christian Book Expo.

AUTHOR, AUTHOR!

I have had several people ask about our criteria for approval of speakers for the Christian Book Expo. The short answer is we plan to approve all speakers submitted. This event belongs to the publishers, so our goal was to make it as open as possible. Of course, there are some exceptions.  If the same topic -- say, like dealing with Alzheimer’s -- is submitted for 13 authors, then we'll need to draw a line somewhere so we can balance the program for our guests. The other main reason we would not approve a speaker is if we run out of space at the convention center. We will place authors in the schedule on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the submission date of the respective Author Reservation Form

As you think through which authors you want to submit, please be sure to include those who are speaking directly to the needs of church staff. We have planned this event to serve the church as well as consumers. Please also be sure to include more thoughtful authors. Please offer suggestions for panel discussions featuring authors from differing perspectives on contemporary issues. This is a great opportunity to raise awareness of content and authors that are not stocked in all retail environments.

There are many ways authors can be involved in the Christian Book Expo in addition to leading a workshop or seminar: in-store appearances, filling local pulpits, and more. This is your event. Make it great!

CBE 2009 . . . It's Time!

Welcome to the official blog for the Christian Book Expo - Dallas 2009! Whether you're already a confirmed exhibitor or just beginning to explore the possibilities, we hope that this blog will be a source for important event details and a forum to pose questions and/or share your unique perspective on the event (and our industry). Subsequent posts will provide additional background information on the Expo . . . identify (and answer!) key questions that impact your participation . . . suggest ways to make your involvement as effective as possible . . . provide up-to-date programming, schedule, and marketing reports . . . and much more!

We are excited about the potential of the Christian Book Expo -- its potential to increase the reach and awareness of our industry, and its potential to impact the lives of thousands of attendees by connecting them with the life-changing messages contained in your books and resources!

We're glad you're on board.
